The Holy Name of Jesus chapter of Project Linus regularly donates blankets, and sometimes newborn hats, to the Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary.
Specifically, the Auxiliary is now in control of the Dr Tom Kennedy Toy Closet. The “Closet” is an amazing program. Whenever toys are donated that can be used on the pediatric floor, a toy and a blanket is given to patients during intake. If there is a toy that is more applicable for the clinic, it provides distraction for children there. Sometimes stuffed animals are “buddies” in examination rooms.
In May of 2013, representatives from the Auxiliary and Toy Closet came to thank the Project Linus team. They took photos, which we are hoping to have copies of to post here. Please consider supporting the Auxiliary:
“The Mission Statement of the Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. is to render services to Bridgeport Hospital, its patients and its staff and to assist the hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the surrounding communities by planning, supporting and implementing a wide variety of fundraising projects. Through these endeavors, Auxiliary members serve as ambassadors to the community on behalf of the Board of Directors of Bridgeport Hospital.”
